WHAT’S YOUR ROLE AT NOLIA AND WHAT DO YOU DO?

I am a freelancer for Nolia Roots! Right now I’m writing blog posts for Bateman-Allen Funeral Home. These blogs cover topics from psychology to anthropology to science and help connect Bateman-Allen with the next generation of people planning funerals for their loved ones.

WHAT’S YOUR GREATEST MOMENT — WHETHER IN WORK, SCHOOL, BUSINESS — SO FAR?

I launched my own marketing business, Girl Publicist, in 2019. Now, I get to work with small and women-owned businesses and help them reach their audiences through innovative and community-focused content, every day. It’s the best!

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?

Stories. I consider myself a storyteller, first and foremost, and everything I do stems from that identity. My main goal with every project I work on is to tell and amplify stories that aren’t normally highlighted in mainstream media.

WHO DO YOU LOVE TO FOLLOW ON TWITTER OR INSTAGRAM AND WHY?

It’s so difficult to pick just a few! (I am on social media way more than I’d like to admit). Right now, I’m learning a lot from Rachel Cargle, so she’d probably be my top pick. I also love following this cosplay/makeup artist who goes by the name Snitchery. If you want to up your makeup game, her social is the place to be.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY?

It sounds basic, but my laptop. Where else can I write, do work, watch Netflix, and play the Sims at any given time?

WHAT’S THE ONE APP OR GADNET THAT NEEDS TO BE INVENTED?

That microwave from Spy Kids – you know the one where they just program it to cook whatever they want and it appears in like 30 seconds? That would change my life.

WHERE CAN SOMEONE FIND YOU WHEN YOU’RE NOT AT SCHOOL OR WORK?

Either spending time with my family or at home making brunch with my roommates.
