NOLIA ROOTS WELCOMES LAUREN TAUBER, BUSINESS ADMINSTRATION
What’s your role at Nolia Roots and what do you do?
At Nolia Roots, I am onboarding into the Business Administration Apprentice position. In this role, I anticipate assisting the Nolia Roots team in keeping an organized and communicative environment with each client. In addition, I hope to learn more about account management and copywriting/public relations platforms that companies like Nolia Roots may use to better keep track of their clients and what they need.
What’s your greatest moment — whether in work, school, business — so far?
Being able to tell others of the hard work I’ve put in to have the opportunity to graduate a year early from college. Although this became possible through the help of my high school offering an abundance of AP/dual enrollment transfer credits, my continued effort in college is what brought me to where I am today.
What’s your favorite thing about your job? What are you most excited about?
My favorite thing about my role at Nolia Roots thus far is the balance of comfort and professionalism that the team immediately brought to the table. As I envisioned myself in a fall/winter internship this year, I knew I needed one thing to succeed based on my past professional experiences—a more professional and challenging atmosphere. Being able to observe the level of communication and even the organization of onboarding has already shown me that I’m in the right place, in addition to receiving the perfect amount of guidance to learn and perform adequately.
What motivates you?
My mom—not only because she’s my #1 supporter, but due to the fact that I grew up watching her move from job to job while raising three kids. Although I feel that I couldn’t have been raised better alongside my two older brothers, my childhood has come to show how important it is to acquire a stable job that allows for benefits and PTO to tend to a family. This is what I now strive for!
Who do you love to follow on social media and why?
I love to follow anyone who spends their time working and traveling for a living since it motivates me to grow into doing the same. Some media influencers I’ve been keeping up with lately are Emily Billings and Autumn Gruber on Instagram; they definitely embrace a certain “grind” culture in me!
What’s your favorite piece of technology?
My computer. Not only is all my academic and professional work housed there, but it also allows me to access unlimited platforms that I can use to create videos, graphics, and write for my blog!
What’s the one app or gadget you think needs to be invented?
Being the strong believer that I am when it comes to balancing screen time and social life, I always wished there was a gadget (similar to an Apple Watch or Oura Ring) that could estimate what a “healthy” amount of time looks like for someone to be on a certain device/media outlet. This set time could be determined by one’s age, work schedule, or eating habits, and will be able to shut down whatever platform one is using when their designated time is up, instead of displaying a pop-up like Apple’s “Screen Time” feature.
Where can someone find you on a day you’re not at school or work?
Shopping with my mom at the mall, sitting at a coffee shop catching up on personal tasks, or just simply walking/running around my neighborhood.
What’s the best book you’ve read recently?
This summer, I read “First Lie Wins” by Ashley Elston—it was the perfect mix of drama and thriller that I enjoy reading from a more modern-day author.
What are your podcast recommendations?
My weekly podcasts include Sadie Robertson Huff’s “WHOA That’s Good” Podcast and Lexi Hidalgo’s “Moments” Podcast. Each discusses common mental obstacles and questions individuals may have about young adulthood while incorporating a sense of spiritual faith, which is very important to me.
What’s one thing you can’t live without?
At this point in my life as a college student, I would have to say my coffee maker. Let’s just say my bank account would look quite different with multiple Starbucks’ trips a week if I didn’t have my Keurig!
What’s the most interesting item on your desk?
A bobblehead of my boyfriend made for free by a street vendor at my hometown’s most popular music festival: Musikfest.
